When do blood counts pick up post transplant?

Day 12 and nothing so far

Hang in there Alfie, it’s still early days by the sound of it. I seem to remember it being 2 or 3 weeks for me and it was very slow then.

Your body is probably just getting over the effects of the chemotherapy at the moment, but hopefully you’re starting to feel a little better. Keep watching those counts and have a little celebration when they start to climb.

All the best,

Steve

Thanks Steve

Hi
I agree with Steve, early days yet, when they start to increase it will make you feel better too. Be patient if you can and be assured that the medical team are doing their best for you.

Let us know when things improve.

Best wishes, Peter.

Thank you Peter. They have picked up! The transplant seems to be grafting. Early days yet but over the initial panic now

Good news, take the pills and do the drills, and hopefully each day will show an improvement.

All the best,

Peter

Great news Alfie.

Watch them climb now but don’t get disheartened if they take a little dip. Your body has been through a lot and will take time to adjust but keep being positive about the outcome and you will be ok.

Please keep us updated as things progress and fingers crossed for a smooth and uncomplicated recovery.

All the very best,

Steve

Great news, Alfie!

How are the cell counts Alfie? From a day +1er!!

Hiya, neutrophils went through the roof on day 14 and are now at a normal level (was 0.1) Platelets and red cells have picked up but only slightly. That’s to be expected apparently. I hope yours goes well xx

That’s great news. I think the neutrophils are the important little ones to get going. Keep going, well done you.

Great news on the Neutrophils Alfie. Hang in there and good luck with your recovery and I hope your other counts pick up and get back to normal levels.

Steve

Congratulations, Alfie! Every day you’ll be getting a little bit stronger (even if it doesn’t always feel that way)…!
